Kevin Kelly has added another option to his forward unit as the club announce that 24-year-old striker, Fraser Malcolm has joined from Beith Juniors. Fraser joins on an 18-month deal after netting 5 goals so far this season for Premier Division side, Beith.

Fraser has previously linked up with manager Kevin Kelly during their time at Caledonian Locomotives FC, formerly known as Rossvale FC and will be hoping that his previous success playing under Kevin can carry on into his spell at Buffs Park. Fraser spent the 2018/19 season playing for, Portugal Based, Estoril Praia’s under 19 side before returning to Scotland to play in the academy of Clyde FC. The striker also spent time at Rutherglen Glencairn in between spells at Caledonian Locomotives. Fraser’s first spell at Locos was a successful one which seen him score 15 of the club’s 39 goals in the 202/23 season, a year which clearly impressed and attracted interest, once again, from Clyde FC who signed the forward for the second time. Despite only scoring once, failing to regularly find the back of the net for League 2 Clyde, Fraser would’ve undoubtedly learned a lot during his time playing against higher quality opposition in the SPFL. After only 6 months at Clyde FC, Malcolm returned to Kevin Kelly’s Caledonian Locomotives where he scored and would go on to score 12 goals, in the league, in only 6 months. Finally, Fraser signed for back-to-back WoSFL Premier Division Champions, Beith Juniors in the summer before going onto play 13 games for The Mighty, scoring 5 goals and getting 3 assists whilst playing at Bellsdale Park.

Fraser will offer great height in both boxes for The Buffs whilst clearly also having the ability to contribute to goals, at this level, whether that’s scoring or assisting. At 24, Fraser also has plenty of time to develop further and will be hoping that he can continue scoring goals, this time in blue and white hoops, for years to come.

“Really happy to bring Fraser to the club and thank Beith for helping get this done so quickly. Fraser is a player I have now worked with for a long time before going to Beith, knowing him as a player and as a person he will be a great asset for the club going forward in around the place and add a different dynamic for us in forward areas adding to what we already have. I’m sure we will see the best in Fraser come in time and hope he settles in well. “

Kevin Kelly is delighted to link up with Fraser once again

“First of all, I’m excited to be here at Kilwinning. Having worked with Kev, Saunders and Blacky at a previous club, it was a no brainer when the opportunity came up. I know what style of football they want to play and what standard they expect from the players. In return they know what they are getting with me. Hopefully I have a positive impact with the team on and off the pitch and we push on as a collective to have a successful season. “
