As we continue to announce the squad for next season as alluded to on KRTV last night, we can officially unveil two new signings: Adam Caldwell and David Ramsey. Adam is 21 year old right back who joins us from Girvan and David is a forward who joins from Kilbirnie Ladeside.
Manager Chris Strain said this about Adam, “Adam is a right sided player who has bags of energy and physically is as fit as you can find at our level. His challenge will be to make the jump up from Girvan where he was a top performer last season. He’ll improve for playing with good experienced players and I’m looking forward to working with him on the defensive side of the game. At 21, he’s at a good age to develop with good experience behind him.”
Adam can’t wait to get started, “I’m buzzing to have signed, I’m looking forward to getting to play in the new league set up and meet up with the team. I met The Gaffer, I was shown the facilities and he spoke about the club which made me want to sign. Hopefully we have a great season.”
David Ramsey knows the Buffs all to well having faced the team when lining up for Kilbirnie. Here’s what he had to say, “I’m really happy to have signed for the club, it’s an exciting time with the new league structure. After speaking to the gaffer and hearing what’s going on around the club on and off the park as well as the way he wants to play, I felt it was the best move for myself. I’m looking forward to getting started with the team, whenever that may be.”
Chris is really happy to add depth in the forward areas, “David caught the eye at Kilbirnie and has pace to burn. He is at the right age and had better offers to go to other teams in our grade but I love the fact that his desire to be successful and develop swayed his decision to come to us. David is a forward and he adds to the great options we have up top already.”
