Christmas is here, so how about a late gift from manager Kevin Kelly, as Conor McLaughlin, Lawrence Hendry, Adam Caldwell and Jack McMahon all agree to 18-month contract extensions that will see all 4 lads staying at the club until the end of season 2026
Conor McLaughlin joined in the summer having previously worked the manager at Rossvale and has been a mainstay in the midfield throughout his time at the club
Lawrence Hendry made the step up from Garrowhill Thistle in the amateur range and has been rewarded with some solid performances at the back
Adam Caldwell in his second spell at has been an important player for the club before unfortunately breaking his leg in our 2-1 defeat over Thorniewood Utd. Adam will be supported in his rehab throughout and we look forward to seeing him back on Buffs Park pitch when he’s fit and ready.
Jack McMahon is one of our own having come through the Kilwinning Rangers youth pathway. Jack has come on leaps and bounds this season, grabbing goals in his last two starts in wins over Thorniewood and Irvine Meadow.
Manager Kevin Kelly gave us his thoughts on all 4 players
The four lads have earned new deals with not only their performances on the pitch but with their application at training but more importantly for what they bring to the dressing room.
Young Jack a product of our well run academy system showing others that hard work and dedication can take you a long way and Jack leads by example coming through at such a young age.
Adam has been Mr Consistent for us since we came in and that started away back in June when he showed the dedication to come back from his broken wrist to become a mainstay so quickly. He is great with the young lads in the dressing room always trying to help where he can with them too. It’s unfortunate that Adam has sustained such a terrible injury, however the club will be fully behind him on the road to recovery.
Larry is known as the joker of the pack in the dressing room and has played a pivotal role for the team on and off the pitch. Since stepping up from amateur he has shown maturity to his game. Larry really helps nit our group together off the pitch and helps bring people together.
Conor is a player we’ve worked with for a while now and has brought exactly everything we expected. To be able to tie him down on a longer deal is a great bit of business for us.
The most important thing for us especially with these four lads all at different stages in their footballing lives is that they all want to learn, they ask if they don’t understand and for myself, Steven and Scott it’s massive for us especially the way we want to get us playing.
