Manager Chris Aitken gets to work signing up 4 for next season’s mission of promotion back to the Premier Division. Midfielder and Club Captain Ben Lewis extends his stay at Kilwinning Rangers along with midfielders Mark Lamont, Blair MacIntyre and defender Jack MacCalman.

Ben is a stalwart of the club and one of our own having spent his entire football career in Kilwinning. Ben was awarded his testimonial in 2018 and is well on track for a double testimonial as the 31 year old embarks on his 15th season in Blue and White. Undoubtedly a fans favourite having been voted Buffs Foundation Player of The Year at this year’s Player of the Year Awards.

Benji spoke to the club website earlier today:

“I’m grateful to be signing for the club for next season. Last season is forgotten about and I will enjoy a few weeks off and recharge for next season as there will be plenty fresh faces around the club and we will be looking to come straight back up from what will be a very tough league.”

Mark Lamont is another player to return next season. The attacking midfielder injects creativity with a threatening delivery from set pieces. He joined at the start of last season from Alloa and a regular under both managers and is keen to turn around the disappointment of relegation quickly.

“I’m delighted to sign on again for the club. The circumstances that happened last year weren’t good enough for the standards of this club and next year it’s about getting those standards back.”

Next to sign on the dotted line is Blair MacIntyre. A strong battling midfielder with a never say die attitude who had some stand out performances in the midfield.

Blair’s keen to bounce back from disappointment:

“I’m really happy to be signing again and looking forward to the new season. Last season the club were let down massively by all of us, so it’s down to me and the rest of the players to get us back where we should be.”

Jack MacCalman is the fourth player to put pen to paper on a deal. Jack arrived in September and instantly impressed in his debut in a 2-0 win over Largs. Jack, best known for his cannon of a long throw, looks to build on his first season at the club.

Jack’s looking forward to next season:

“I’m delighted to sign on for another season. Last year wasn’t what any of us wanted and I’m looking forward to playing my part to get us back into the premier division.”

Manager Chris Aitken is happy with the start of the rebuild:

“It was really important for the club to get these deals done. They are the heart beat of the team going forward and they bring real quality to the squad. I’m absolutely delighted with the commitment shown from them all.”

News on the rest of the squad will be updated in due course.
